Solidarity takes on new weight and meaning in these uncertain times, and here at Lodging, we have committed ourselves to helping people find housing in Barcelona who, for various reasons, cannot return to their homes. Halting the advance of SARS-CoV-2 virus is an individual and collective responsibility that we take on with the full conviction that if we heed the social distancing orders established by the health authorities, we will overcome this crisis more quickly and we can get back to work and our normal lives.
Lodging, our holiday rental and tourism apartment management company, has joined the Barcelona Holiday Apartment Association (APARTUR) initiative to help people who must remain in Barcelona for a variety of reasons. We’ve converted our tourism apartments into temporary housing for people who have a family member ill with COVID-19 or visitors from abroad who can’t return home because of social distancing restrictions. We are also working to support those who are working tirelessly for the collective good: the health professionals who remain in the hospitals saving thousands of lives.
Our apartments are fully furnished and have been deep-cleaned by staff equipped with all the safety materials and methods required at the present time. Lodging’s administrative personnel continue to telecommute through the crisis, managing any enquiries by telephone and email. Our check-in and check-out personnel for the apartments also have all the required material and protection they need to carry out their work, in accordance with the present health alert regulations in Spain.
One of Lodging’s hallmarks is working with spaces that are carefully curated, fully equipped, and have a modern design that will make anyone that chooses them in these difficult days feel safe, protected, and lacking for nothing. They’re a true safe haven, almost like being in your real home. A charming atmosphere improves your mental state, and we’re even more intent on giving people a space of refuge in these moments, especially when they’ve gotten stuck in Barcelona without a place to live or work securely, or when they are waiting anxiously for word about a loved one.
The businesses dedicated to holiday rentals love the city of Barcelona, and like many others in the tourism industry, we are facing the consequences of cancelled travel and thinking about people that have been directly affected. We hope, like the rest of our association, that by putting our apartments at the service of the city of Barcelona we can help others who find themselves in some very difficult moments.
