Like diamonds in the rough, many apartments have great potential but require the intervention of a Barcelona tourism rental management company to carry out a renovation that makes possibility reality and meets the expectations of guests. We did work of this type with a great apartment located in the heart of Barcelona. Called Santa Mónica in honor of the sector of Las Ramblas where it’s located, the apartment’s 50 sqm are so efficiently used that it is now one of our most in-demand homes among guests who want to live comfortably in the heart of the Mediterranean capital. If you want to see how the first renovation of this apartment was carried out in 2017, check out these photographs.
A full renovation
Those of you who know the center of Barcelona know that its neighborhoods have witnessed centuries of history. As in any large European city, there are buildings that need regular maintenance and apartments that have to be renovated to prevent deterioration. In this case, the challenge was to make the most of the natural light but to adapt the available spaces to allow for a pleasant stay of several months. Opening the kitchen to the dining room optimized the surface area and resulted in a much more diaphanous environment, nourished by the light coming in from the terrace. A good exhaust system was essential for avoiding the concentration of smoke, and the furniture placed in the upper area, touching the ceiling, gave the apartment greater storage capacity.
Space to store everything
In the two bedrooms, one double and one single, large wardrobes were installed to ensure that occupants have plenty of space for their things. And in the bathroom, to gain space, an ultra-flat shower tray was chosen, with an easily accessible fixed screen. Also noteworthy is the suspended bathroom furniture that leaves the floor completely clear, as well as the wide upper shelf of the sink, putting everything at guests’ fingertips.
A spectacular terrace
The terrace of the Santa Mónica apartment deserves proper attention. During the renovation of this Barcelona tourism apartment, we created two complementary spaces: a lounge-type living room and an outdoor dining area. Perfect for resting, spending time with friends or sunbathing, the terrace was equipped with artificial grass that is very easy to maintain, paving stone and furniture made of materials designed for outdoor use, and a wooden frame with an awning to protect diners. The entire area is isolated from the surrounding properties but very well connected to the interior of the house.
Top quality furniture
Thanks to our experience in Barcelona tourism rental management, at Lodging Management we know that a good investment in appliances and furniture ensures the well-being of guests and guarantees good reviews. This is essential if you want to amortize the cost of the renovations and earn revenue from the property. In the case of the Santa Mónica apartment, because it is a month-to-month rental apartment with tenants who come to the city for professional or work reasons, a high level of comfort is what they expect during their stay.
Modern aesthetics and good taste
The decoration, designed by Domú, was as important as the concepts behind the renovation, because a balance between functionality and aesthetics is always crucial. Designer lamps, a comfortable sofa bed, wood finishes and very warm colors on the walls are just some of the elements that tenants enjoy. The fresh natural textures and the predominance of white details makes for a calming environment.
Spaciousness, natural light, security, modernity…they’ve all contributed to the great reviews that this apartment in the center of Barcelona has earned. And these features were achieved thanks to a careful and comprehensive renovation by a team of experts in Barcelona tourism rental management. Our professionals are dedicated to adding value to properties so they meet the highest standards of the most discerning guests.
