Lodging Management is committed to UN Development Goal 5: gender equality

Empresa de gestión de pisos de alquiler temporal, igualdad de condiciones laborales

At Lodging Management, we understand sustainability as a set of actions that contribute to creating a healthier and cleaner environment and protecting the well-being of people. The Biosphere Committed certificate awarded to us by the Responsible Tourism Institute this year is proof that our temporary rental apartment management company in Barcelona is firmly committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our guests are the beneficiaries, and they find our properties stocked with energy-efficient appliances, home automation devices that reduce unnecessary consumption of electricity and gas, and amenities chosen for their local production and positive social impact.

Maintaining high sustainability standards is an ongoing process, and today we’d like to talk about on SDG 5: achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.

According to United Nations data, around 2.4 billion women of working age do not have the same economic opportunities and rights as men, and the International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that women earn 20% less than men, worldwide. In the European Union, this means that on average, women work 47 days a year for free compared to men due to this lack of wage parity.

At Lodging Management, we are proud to say our team is made up of 50% women and 50% men, that we guarantee equal pay without discrimination, and that we publicly support initiatives that reduce the wage gap.

The owners of our rental properties in Barcelona and the tenants who count on us for their holidays or temporary stays find in Melania, Aidé, Catarina, Paula, Gemma, Guadalupe and Ana the support they need, guided by total professionalism and empathy. They are a key and vital part of our growth at Lodging and it goes without saying that they receive salaries in accordance with their functions and working hours, are provided opportunities to achieve a good work-life balance, and that we communicate to them their value to our organization. For Lodging, this commitment to SDG 5 isn’t a short-term strategy; it’s a fundamental component of our corporate culture and values. Incorporating excellent professionals without any gender, race or nationality biases is part of our global vision to keep our business growing hand-in-hand with our team and to achieve maximum competitiveness under sustainability criteria.
