The digitalisation of short-term rental housing management has introduced new marketing tools like virtual tours. Now, potential renters can explore a flat’s layout and dimensions from their computer or mobile phone, eliminating the need to visit the property in person.
Thanks to our collaboration with Jota Virtual, specialists in Matterport technology, Lodging Management has, to date, scanned 90 flats in Barcelona, with plans to expand this number. While some property owners may feel that virtual tours lack the personal touch of an in-person walk-through, this tool has proven invaluable, especially for clients who are overseas or have limited availability.
We have found that the 141,000 impressions and 51,300 visits generated through Matterport have led to highly positive booking results. Additionally, virtual tour links can be shared in various ways, greatly increasing the property’s exposure. This makes it a highly effective and cost-efficient marketing strategy.
Our Founder & CEO, Ezequiel Vallejo, discussed the importance of virtual tours on Juanjo Bande’s podcast, Los Cafés de Juanjo. Ezequiel emphasised that 3D tours provide a more accurate representation of a property than photos, which can be misleading.
For those involved in short-term rental housing management, Juanjo Bande’s content is a valuable resource. His YouTube videos spark discussions about industry challenges and connect entrepreneurs and property owners across Spain.
